A client recently had an above knee amputation and complained of pain distal to the amputation. What type of pain is the client experiencing?

If a client who has recently undergone an above knee amputation complains of pain distal to the amputation, the type of pain that the client is experiencing is most likely neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a type of pain that occurs as a result of damage or dysfunction to the nervous system.
